photo (9)We were recently given the opportunity to review the Bubbaroo Joey pouch swaddling bag. With a new baby in the house I was very excited to try this sleep bag as I had heard great things about it.

I was sent the newborn size in mocha and when I took it out of the packaging I noticed how big it was. It fits my newborn great and will fit him until he is about 7 months which is great value for money! The material is light, breathable and super soft. Its not a tight swaddle as it complys with SIDS recommendations and simulates a womb. I was happily surprised to find it does stop him doing the startle reflex even though it is loose. The company sent me some recent research on swaddling and I really learnt a lot. Previous to receiving this product I had been swaddling bub with a blanket, arms and legs straight. After reading that it could cause hip displasia, restrict breathing and make for an unsettled bub I now understand why Bubbaroo‘s swaddle is  loose fitting.

The plastic zipper is a bit noisy and I worried about waking baby when I needed to feed him but I realized there was no need to unwrap him because it is comfortable and loose on his belly. I only had to unzip the bottom to change his nappy. I love the popper button at the neck so I can be sure no little arms will escape.

For all these great features I put this product in the top 10 baby must haves! I would recommend having a couple because babies are messy.
