Disposable or reusable breast pads?

With my first baby I didn’t even think about reusable breast pads. I guess I was a bit sceptical that they could do the same job as a disposable. I also wasn’t very impressed with the disposables I was using as they would move about because of the crappy sticky tab and leave fluff on my boob. They were also bagged in noisy bags which was annoying when I needed to rip them open at night and keep hubby and bub asleep.

So I was recently sent two products that really blew me away- Bambooby Buddies reusable breast pads & Glamour pads disposables.

Lets start with Bambooby Buddies reusables. They do an amazing job! Possibly even better than the disposables because they are large and very absorbent. My immediate thought was ‘what if I leak through and have no idea’, (something that doesn’t happen with disposables because of the plastic backing) but when I tested them I realized they have a barrier to stop this happening. Its a layer of laminated fabric. So now I was really impressed. They are made from bamboo and velour which makes them incredibly soft. You know how much I love bamboo!  There is no plastic rustling noises coming from your boobys. They are brilliant for soaking and freezing to put on engorged boobs.

Now Glamour pads in my opinion are the best disposables around. They have all the qualities you want in a breast pad like super sticky back, softness, very absorbent, soft plastic sealed wrapper with easy open strip, compact folded design. So what makes them even greater? They are GLAMOROUS! They come in black, white and nude to match your bra. They are shaped to fit the cup of your bra so no pads sticking out or trying to fold them in half. They have a sweet little flower ripple design along the edge so if you forget to peel the sticky tab off and it rides up no one will even know its your breast pad!

So my conclusion is I’m a half and half girl. I will wear my disposables when going out or having friends over and my reusables when I’m at home or sleeping.
