Oyako Mei Tai carrier review- A beautiful way to carry your baby

We were thrilled to review such a beautiful carrier this month and really fell in love. The Oyako carrier was hand made using the fabric options I selected on their site  and shipping was fast. The fabric options are fantastic with mummy and daddy prints!

The carrier is a half buckle which means you don’t have to tie up the waist band you just snap up the buckle (see video below). The fabric is very strong and can hold up to 15kg. Its also light so perfect for Australian weather. The head support, shoulder straps and waist band are all lightly padded. Not as padded as some other carriers but it is comfortable for 30mins-1hr depending on the size of bub I guess. It would be nice if they offered a more expensive super padded version. The base is wide and creates the perfect seat without and fiddling around.

There are instructions on how to tie the straps on the Oyako website and once you do it once its very easy to remember.

The best bit? If bub gets hungry I just loosen the waist band so he slips lower to boob height and I can keep doing whatever I’m doing!

I really adore my Oyako Mei Tai and always get compliments on it when out and about. It would make the perfect prezzie for a new mum, especially if she has other children.

UPDATE: Bub is now 10 months old and we are still in love with this carrier! I prefer it over my hip carriers because it is so comfy even with bub being 11kg. It folds up so small I just leave it in the car.
