The Healthy Mummy review

The Healthy Mummy 28 Day diet and exercise program is a great program for mothers looking to improve their health and fitness and is suitable once you get the all clear after your 6 week check up. The diet plan is well thought out and simple to follow. It consists of a 4 week plan- each week has 3 main elements to diet- the shopping list, menu planner then recipe guide. The food is delicious and easy to prepare and great for the whole family. The exercise plan is similar- each week has a week planner for activities and photographic instructions. In addition to the exercises listed in the book, I used the Healthy Mummy Post natal exercise DVD which contains 6 workouts- 2 x 15 minute cardio workouts and 4 x 10 minute workouts, which I combined into 25 minute workouts, and did so by getting up before the kids do. The workouts are suited to beginner fitness level and also cater to those at a high level.

The Healthy Mummy Smoothies are a yummy meal replacement shake and the recipe guide has some yummy alternatives to plain shakes- my personal favourite is the vanilla with a banana and mixed berries. There is a pocket sized calorie bible that is easy to slip into my handbag and makes eating outside the home easier. I also love the chocolate book! Chocolate is my weakness and the mousse- just buy the book. The recipes in the spring and summer detox look delicious, and I cannot wait to try them when the weather warms up.

All in all, I lost 2kg over the 4 weeks, which I’m happy with. If you are good at following a set diet plan this is a great option. Importantly, The Healthy Mummy is suitable for breastfeeding mothers, where many diet plans become unsuitable. If you are thinking about it, give it a go. The only thing I would change is the option of going from hard copy books to a smart phone app for even easier shopping convenience, and to reduce paper used to print the books.
